About

The Data spAces for smaRt Energy (DARE) project aims to provide new, secure means for sharing data generated by IoT devices. DARE technology will enable IoT device owners to share data generated by their devices with 3rd party service providers. DARE integrates novel data semantics interoperability technologies, and security and access control solutions.

DARE will demonstrate the developed technologies through a smart energy management proof of concept. DARE will allow sharing of data generated by IoT devices located in real smart buildings, enabling training of AI models for anomaly detection and energy forecasting, as well as real time monitoring of energy equipment of smart buildings.

The main building block of DARE is W3C's Verifiable Credentials and Decentralized Identifiers. DARE will integrate these technologies into iSHARE framework in order to provide fine-grained access control. Data collected from IoT devices, will be properly encoded using JSON-LD and it will be provided through FIWARE orion context broker, using NSGI-LD API.
